Sleep Hormone Profile

The Sleep Hormone Profile test assesses two major causes for insomnia, imbalances in melatonin and cortisol. Melatonin is a peptide hormone produced by the pineal gland which helps to control normal sleep patterns. Deficiencies of this hormone can lead to insomnia. Cortisol is produced by the adrenal glands and is often referred to as the “stress hormone”.

What does this test involve?

The Sleep Hormone Profile test requires only a saliva sample. You may need to take samples on a few different days at different times depending on the hormones that are being tested, but our Naturopath will discuss the process with you during your appointment.
